Which is the best Leadership Style Questionnaire?
I’ve come across countless leadership styles questionnaires when trawling across the internet – they’re really fun to do, and you may surprise yourself with what a simple quiz may tell you!
The Leadership Styles Questionnaire on Leadership Expert, a leadership blog, is one of my personal favourites!
Basically, you go through a list of about 20 leadership questions (Which won’t take you long to answer at all really!) and then you do a couple of sums (I sure hope you can add up a bit if you’re evaluating your worth as a leader!) and it will produce a picture of which leadership characteristics, or styles, you appear to be adopting! A key point to note however, is that the quiz will only really work if you answer honestly, and I mean it! So many people complete this quizzes half thinking ‘Oh thats the right answer’ or ‘I’m kinda selling myself short by putting that, because I’m only acting like that for the time being, and am improving all the time!’. The whole point of a leadership styles quiz is to give you an answer which serves as a wake up call – but you’ll never be shocked by a quiz that you simply put the ‘right’ answers to. The real shock will always come when you decide to truely approach the questionnaire with some dignity and say ‘Actually.. I know this option sounds very old fashioned, but it actually reflects how I act’.
